STURBY GROUP is founded by Stuart Derbyshire — a carpenter by trade with close to two decades of hands-on construction and site management experience.
Built on experience
STURBY GROUP is built on the foundation of Stuart Derbyshire's construction career.
Stuart began in construction as a carpenter, gaining a practical understanding of how buildings physically come together — framing, fit-outs, cladding, concrete, windows and doors, learned on the tools from the ground up.
His career progressed into Foreman and Site Management positions responsible for planning, programming, subcontractor coordination, quality, safety and project delivery across residential, commercial, education and Defence environments.
STURBY brings those two sides of construction together — hands-on building knowledge and disciplined construction management.
The founder
Stuart Derbyshire
Stuart is a carpenter by trade who moved into Foreman and Site Management, and now runs STURBY himself — planning, coordinating and being on site for the work he takes on.
It's a deliberately small practice. You deal with the builder directly, and the person quoting your project is the person delivering it.
