The experience behind Sturby

Built on close to two decades on site.

Founder Stuart Derbyshire began as a carpenter before progressing through Foreman and Site Management roles across residential, commercial, education and Defence projects.

That combination — how buildings are physically built, and how projects are planned, coordinated and delivered — shapes every STURBY project.

The Sturby approach

Three principles behind the work.

Hands-on experience

A trade background provides a practical understanding of how buildings come together on site, not simply how they appear on drawings.

Considered delivery

Planning, programming, procurement and coordination are treated with the same importance as workmanship.

Clear communication

Clients are kept informed throughout the project, with decisions, expectations and changes communicated clearly.

Direct from the builder

From first conversation to handover, communication stays direct.

No unnecessary layers and no sales department — just clear communication with the people responsible for planning and delivering the project.

Our process

Five stages, from first conversation to handover.
